Ready, Set, GO!

Clayton raced his final pinewood derby race on Tuesday night. He wanted his last car to be totally awesome. So Justin and Clay worked on ideas and how to make it go fast for weeks. Their final car was so cool! Clayton won second place and was over the moon with the trophy. All of the cub scouts took a vote on who's car they thought was the most creative. They voted for Clay's and he won a trophy for that also. That one really surprised him. He whispered to me, "I can't believe that all of the boys really liked my car. You and dad are the best parents ever." Moments like those really make me grateful that this boy is mine. This is the final car! Clay named it Geronimo!
Clay also earned 3 activity badges that night. He is slowly getting closer to getting his arrow of light award!

This is Clayton and his friend Hunter showing off their cars.

The Hockey Game!

I know you are wondering, Hockey in Arizona? Well it is street hockey that is played inside the school's gym. Clayton has been on the team since last year and really loves it. On Friday, Clayton and I were able to play against each other. The school had a game, Students vs Teachers, but the only problem was that there weren't enough teachers willing to play. So the coach approached me and asked if I would be willing to play. He said that all I would need to do was just be there to help the goalie out defensively. So I thought, Okay Savannah you can do that! Ya Right!! Three minutes into the game I had already been hit 2 times in the leg by hockey sticks, tripped and pretty much getting my butt kicked by a bunch of 10 year olds. It was great!

This picture was taken before the game started. Notice that I am smiling. After the game not so much!

Here is Clayton with his friend Peyton. They were ready to show me what it is all about!
This is my friend Shelley Stanley. She teaches Kindergarten at the school and her son, Colton, plays on the hockey team too.

This is Wade and his best friend Drew watching the game! They were cheering so aloud and loving every minute of it. Wade kept telling me to move faster! Thanks Wade! But through it all Clayton was telling me how cool I was because I even tried to play! I love him so much!

My Wonderful Boys!

My boys keep me laughing at the crazy stuff that they do.
Luke had show and tell at preschool last Thursday. He was suppose to bring something that started with the letter "O". So what did my Luke decide to take and show everyone .... Himself as Obi wan Ken obi. He searched around his (very clean) room and found his costume. He was so excited to go to school that day and show his best friend Trenton what his show and tell was.
Clayton got an award at school for doing his personal best. He was so happy that he actually smiled for this picture. He never smiles! Clay thought that it would be sooo funny to hold his award upside down for the picture. So, yes I know it is upside down. I am so proud of Clay for always trying his best at school. He has all A+'s and one C+ in math. Let's just say that Clay's strong subjects are reading and spelling.
Wade also got an award at the assembly for "Outstanding Math". They say that all kids are different and my boys are no exception. One excels in Reading the other in Math. Wade has such a quick brain when it comes to numbers. Now reading is another matter! He has no patience for reading or listening, that will become a issue later on in school! We are so proud that Wade is enjoying school and doing well.

Happy Birthday Grandpa Curtis!

Today is my Grandpa Curtis' 86th Birthday. I just wanted to let him know how much I love and appreciate him. My grandpa has always shown me that you can laugh at any situation that life presents you. He loves doing pranks on those that are around him. I remember the first time that I brought Justin to meet my grandparents. I was so worried that something would go wrong and Justin would make a run for it. We all sat down on the couch and started talking about life when my grandpa asked Justin if he would like something to drink. When my grandpa came back into the room he was holding a couple of drinks and to my horror he stumbled! I watched as the cup went flying into the air and landed right on Justin's lap. It was EMPTY! My wonderful grandpa thought that we all needed to laugh a little, and we certainly did. My kids are so lucky to have you in their lives. I am eternally grateful to have you as my grandfather. I hope that you have a wonderful day! We love you!

Here is Grandpa Curtis helping Clayton play with his presents on his first Christmas . Here is Wade meeting Grandpa Curtis for the first time. It is the sweetest picture ever. This picture was taken at Luke's blessing. My grandparents drove down from Utah to Las Vegas to be there for that special day. Things like that have meant so much to me throughout the years. Thanks for all of the special memories!
